This piece is based on a very special photograph that a dear friend sent me during lockdown. The photo was of a potato field that had just been ploughed in a neighbouring village. The tree that was central to the image just seemed so powerful at a time when we were all feeling so vulnerable. I have painted this tree on many occasions albeit in different guises - to me it is the embodiment of strength.
